RYA Powerboat Training and Courses

Aquasafe Powerboat School is based on The South Coast at Lymington Yacht Haven, and offers RYA Powerboat Training in the Lymington River and the busy waters of the Solent.

We are delighted to have powerboat trainer Laurence West as Chief Instructor of the Powerboat School enabling us to offer a wide range of RYA powerboat courses from the introductory Powerboat Level 1 right through to Powerboat Instructor Training.

Our recognised training base is a 38 foot Hagg, a classic flybridge motor yacht berthed in the Yacht Haven, where the theory side of your course will be held. It was completely refurbished last year and has proved to be extremely popular as a classroom.

We have a large fleet of high quality 'RIBS' (Rigid Inflatable Craft) with smooth, fuel efficient motors of varying power, all carrying the latest safety navigational equipment. Our principal school boats are 7.8m Ribcraft with 225hp outboards, and 6.8 metre Ribcraft with 200hp outboards, all of which are fast and exhilarating but also very safe and stable teaching platforms. They are all fully coded by the MCA for commercial work, which is not a requirement for teaching but is an additional safety standard.

Our powerboat instructors are all professional yachtsmen with a wealth of experience and knowledge to pass on to you.

All-weather gear and safety equipment is supplied.
